saving in arrangment view.

Post by William Gibson » Sun Apr 12, 2015 8:57 pm

So I just spent an hour reading through the manual and cant find the info i want. In live 9, If I am in session view and I hit record up at the top, Mess with launching some clips for a while then press record again to stop it, everything I did is recorded to the arrangement view. so I switch over to arrangement view and I see all the clips launched and all the things I did. Now if I wanted to save all of what was recorded into arrangement view, How do I do that?

Thanks guys.

Select your recording (or parts of it) right click, choose make selection to new scene

Save in your project, Use "Save as" from the Archive menu or just Ctrl (Windows) Cmd (Mac) -S. When you start the project again, everything will still be in Arrangement. No need to save this unless it's unique after recording it.

Save to Session: Select one or multiple tracks (rows in Arrangement) by clicking on them, add selections on additional tracks while pressing Cmd or Ctrl if they are not contiguous and shift if they are, then right click and select copy or just use the shortcut Ctrl/Cmd-C. Make sure to notice the top selected track.

Go to Session and select a clip position in the track that was on top in Arrangement and paste. All clips from Arrangement will be copied into new slots and existing clips will be moved if they happen to be in the way I think.

Of course if you just recorded the clips and didn't do anything new with them, these clips will be identical to the ones you played and recorded. I only do this when I have consolidated clips in Arrangement and need to do further work on them or reuse them for another instrument.

It's "Consolidate Time to New Scene".

A nice variant for this is to set the loop tool to the whole area comprising of all tracks you want to make into a new scene, click on the loop and right click and choose this command.
