Manually Relocating a Plug-in.

Post by fredbloss » Fri May 01, 2015 11:21 am

Hi guys potentially a bit of a weird query here. Have had a little search for previous discussions on the topic but no success so far....

I've recently re-installed an updated version of a plugin bundle of mine. This has led to some of the plugins changing name slightly eg. "Element" is now called "Element Stereo". As a result of this all my previous projects using these plugins now say they can't find any of them. It seems that my only option in each case is to drop a new version of the plugin onto the track and start from scratch with all patches and modulation which is going to take a lot of painfully boring work. But surely this sort of problem is quite common? Is there any better solution that anyone is aware of?

I was thinking there should be some way of manually re-routing, or re-assigning all the info stored to the new version of the Plugin, similar to when an audio file goes missing from a sampler.

Let me know your thoughts, cheers!
