Auto Warp Not Turning Off

Post by Funklestiltskin » Fri May 01, 2015 12:53 pm

Hey all,

I've been doing a lot of resampling lately and one thing thats bothered me is that no matter what my 'auto warp' settings are in the preferences tab, whatever I've resampled always starts off in warp mode. This can be frustrating because before bouncing it to my samples folder I have to go in and turn it off - and when you're doing this a lot its a pain in the ass -.-

I'm using the latest beta right now, but this happened in past versions as well.
My settings are:

Loop/Warp Short Samples: Unwarped One Shot
Autowarp Long Samples: OFF

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
Thanks in advance! :)

By resampling, do you mean exporting audio files?

When you export your audio you need to have "Create Anaysis File" switched off. When on, it creates an .asd file next to your new audio file in Finder/Explorer. Live sees the .asd and treats the file as warped. Switch this off when you render and all should be good.

Also, you can "batch unwarp" audio files by trashing their relevant .asd files in Finder/Explorer. Then when you next import them into Live (with your settings as above) they will be unwarped.

Sorry - no. By resampling, I mean using the 'Resampling' function to record audio from another audio/midi channel within the same project.
When it records to the new track (the resampling track) it automatically has 'warp' on. I'd like it to have 'warp' off, as the default. Does that make more sense?

Ah! As far as i know there's no way to have an unwarped file created by default when you resample. I can understand why it would default to on, but it would be handy to have that option.

I think this as a feature would would go well in the 'ability to loop unwarped clips' package.

And the ability to put clips inside of clips :P

And 'launch next clip at end of this clip'.

They could all really fit well together and create a whole new chapter of Ableton freedom.
