Lower latency in 48khz?
Lower latency in 48khz?
I've read somwhere that latecy will be lower in live when using 48khz, is that true? If so what are the preferred settings for low latency? My interface is apogee one.

Re: Lower latency in 48khz?
It's true in most cases. It's about a little less than a 4% (256 samples) to just above 7% (512 samples) difference on my interface. At 512 samples that's still only 1ms. If you go to 96000 you practically halve your outgoing latency.dchalfon wrote:I've read somwhere that latecy will be lower in live when using 48khz, is that true? There are no preferred settings in any other way than what you prefer and what your hardware can manage to play back without crackles and dropouts. Experiment and learn. Personally I use 256 samples. For mixdown I can typically be forced to go to 512.
The other day I was at 2048 for some reason and had massive audio dropouts at low load. I was forced to go to 256 samples and everything worked again.
