Im going to try to keep it to stuff not mentioned yet.

electro (or electro-ish) :

Man Parrish - Boogie Down Bronx, Hip Hop Be Bop (dont stop)
Yello Magic Orchestra - Technodelic
Grandmaster Flash and F5 - Scorpio

hmm, i guess the biggest ones already mentioned - Newcleus, Hashim, Cybotron (Juan Atkins), Africa Bambata. And of course Kraftwerk, but they get they're own thread --> endless endless :P

other stuff :

Aphex Twin - Windowlicker (just mentioning this cause everybody is mentioning come to daddy, but i thought windowlicker was the logical follow up and improvement.)

Meat Beat Manifesto - 99% (although the vocals date it)

COIL - Loves Secret Domain

Wu Tang - enter the 36 chambers. and lets throw the first gza album (liquid swords) in there too while we're at it.

Hey, someone mentioned Download, well whatta bout Skinny Puppy? Bites is a pretty timeless record. If you don't think you like industrial music, listen to "ghost track" or "Centre Bullet" on Bites...

Great to hear people mention the old Human League stuff. Gotta throw in Travelogue. Just as noisy and fucked up as Reproduction.

HOw bout "popcorn" by Hot Butter?

Missing Brazillians - Warzone (my favorite on-u record)

ehh, thats enough for now...

NIN Fixed

Enigma Sadness (particularly "the violent US mix")

Aphex Twin- Richard D James

Happy Monday's Halejulah 12" club remix

these two are (at least for me) examples of records that sound good when they are released but sound outdated rather quickly. well, not really outdated, but the more it goes, the less you listen to them.

Hmmm title of the topic is misleading, I think "peeddrroo" meant electronic rather than electro, but oh well... I suck at choosing favourites anyway.

yeah, you're right, in france "electro" stands for both electronic music in general and pure "electro" stuff as ppl interpreted it here.

but anyway, nice listing here. i just like to see what ppl listen to.

Three of my favourite electronic tracks:

Manuel Gottsching – E2-E4
Sun Palace – Rude Movements
Cat Stevens – Was Dog A Doughnut?

and three old school electro tracks:

The Unknown DJ – Let’s Jam
The Russell Brothers – The Party Scene (mostly the instrumental version)
Hashim – We’re Rocking The Planet

In a strictly Electro electro "high velocity snare accompanied by dread bass" type of electro

Radioactiveman - Uraniumn + Strong Booze
Drexcyia - Wavejumper
Decal - Superscum
Carl Finlow - Electromotiveforce
Model 500 - Nightdrive
Anthony Rother - Sex with the machines
Michael Forshaw - Work that Body

I wont bother re-mentioning stuff like Al Hashim
