How do you clean your push?

Post by Audit » Tue May 19, 2015 7:41 pm

My push although I often cover is looking a bit grubby and the pads have a little scummy build up. I haven't ever cleaned it.

The time has come...

Was interested in users experience hints and tips on this matter?

Thank you,

Mark

A flat paintbrush works pretty well. Push is a dust magnet though.

Great tip thanks interceptor :)

I think also my pads want a clean. Can't decide on fluid to use as yet! But a paint brush will be kept beside my push from now on :)

A slightly damp microfiber cloth works well.

Noted.

I dont know what it is with Push - ive got a custom cover, and it STILL gets loads of dust. Must be the slighlty rubbery feel?

Yeah, for sure, it feels nice but definitely attracts dust

Micro fibre cloth. Paintbrush. Maybe just damp the cloth with small amount of water.

All good,

Thank you,

Mark

So grabbed a micro fibre cloth and one of my girlfriends make up brushes! Have my push and good clean and dust. Nice :)

Thanks for all your suggestions. Maybe more still to come?

Regards,

Mark

Sorry. What won't happen?

Mine was so grubby on the pads. Some fluid was essential. A little dampness did the trick but not wet and dripping. I would rather not have but was essential this time. Didn't want to use any alcohol wipes or other chemical wipes.

Should just get myself into routine of dusting down more often :)

I usually just use a Paintbrush with soft tip bristles.

You can also spray a little windex or glass cleaner on a soft lint free cloth then wipe it with the cloth.
This is what we used to clean "everything" when I repaired music equipment for a living @ MARS Amp repair here in Colorado (and I still use it for all my equipment). Glass cleaner wont take paint off and it evaporates quickly so it wont short out circuits like water will. Trust me, we cleaned thousands of keyboards, amps, rack equipment, drum machines, guitar stuff, mixing boards, etc.. etc...

Just spray it on the cloth then wipe, don't spray it on the gear.

or.......
If it's really bad I boil it in vegetable oil and sometimes I add French fries if I'm hungry.

I despise cleaning anything except myself and my clothes. When too much dust has accumulated on Push I bin it and buy a new one, it's just much easier. I do use a Decksaver cover as well.

I'd blame them both! I thought mine wasn't working and then I pushed the French fries of the screen and all of a sudden the display was working, I might return it anyway, it could be defective. Have you tried moving the French fries off your Push? It's worth a shot
