that's what she said!
There's been no talk of size here since stringtapper's 6+ almost tipped the chair over when he put it to his head. No chips and salsa were harmed
But you know what's weird?
I'll be damned if the thing doesn't seem normal now and when I hold my girlfriend's 5 I feel like I'm going to break the damn thing it seems so puny.

Work will only give me a windows phone so I'm about to inherit the wife's 5 when she upgrades to the six.... Using ipad2 airs at work and they're not that much different for me to warrant a purchase...
Waiting for the next big thing!
Cheers

In contrast to what Apple Music will be like, google added their Radio part to the phone app; I was waiting for that because I'm not really into playing music off my main comp anymore except for Live, and I like how they have their stations set up. It's more strayed from "Pick your genre then sub-genre" and have it set more by mood/feeling. I picked an 'Instrumental while you work' section and picked chilled beats which was supposed to be centered around chill trap which was ok but half of it was too poppy for me so I picked an adjacent one really centered on witch house and it's pretty nice, though they threw in a Burial classic which was a nice surprise.
I'm interested in how both Google and Apple are going to do this, and other parts of their UX plans because at least on the google front I'm assuming, as it's seemed for the past 5 or so years actually, that how and what we respond to is important for their machine learning (captchas have been around for awhile and while we think it's for security purposes, it also provided a lot of data for recognition). I think the AI we think of from movies will be hear way before we expect it.
Anyway, I like the google Radio setup. This 'Nocturnal, Hypnotic Rhythms' station full of witch house is nice. Never heard of Austra but it's pretty cool.

In my book, the real big thing would be an iPhone whose cell service doesn't cost $50 or so extra a month for being a "smart" phone. Now that would be an real breakthrough.

That would only be smart for the consumer and therefore has been added to File 13 for later consideration by seagulls at the landfill.

Apple will be increasing the iTunes Match count from 25,000 to 100,000 with iOS 9.

Personally I thought people bitching about the 25,000 limit are absurd. That’s 25,000 above what is available in the iTunes store. If it’s available in the iTunes store than it doesn’t count against the 25,000. I won’t even attempt to guess what garbage would go beyond 25,000 tracks not included in the 30 million tracks available on iTunes.

'This is Jungle Brothers' for one. I tried to buy it on iTunes from Pandora Friday and bitches didn't have it.... Why have a button that says "get it on iTunes" if you can't get it

One mans ceiling is another mans floor. There's tons of records being found and reissued all the time and the fact that they were never in a Top___ doesn't mean jack. ITunes is already full of garbage.

Does iTunes have the guitar version of Thrashpack's "Kinda Cool in the Place"? It was on Simon Harris' Music of Life label; a late 80s Beastie Boys style rap thing which possibly only ever featured on one of their Hard as Hell compilations)...
Been trying to track it down all day, but only keep finding guitarless other versions (the fully vocal 'dub' version is closest but lacks the guitars). I got like half of it on a 25+ year old tape and it sounds mint; if I can't get it I'll have to ID the riff (prolly AC/DC, I dunno) and remake it.

iTunes has 30,000,000 tracks. I think I can safely say most of those weren't ever on a Top 10 list. Sure, there are still going to be missing tracks. Let me know when you get anywhere close to 25,000 missing tracks that you absolutely must have.
Anybody close to that has a library that is a complete mess that they haven't cleaned up ever or in these parts some clowns are tossing in sample libraries, like a single piano that required 8,000 different samples for realism.

25k isn't much when you gather the labels that aren't on iTunes amd those are the kind of labels with loyal customers who are unlikely to be messy with their purchases/cataloguing.
And there are still plenty ofbpeople who just orders vinyl and cds and don't do digital downloads.

On this point it doesn’t matter. You don’t have to buy it from iTunes. It just has to be available on iTunes for it not count against the 25,0000 (soon to be 100,000). So whether you rip a CD, or bought from Amazon, Beatport, or whatever other source iTunes just matches it to the file in their store library.
Digitizing vinyl might be a whole different matter if it relies on some kind of digital watermark for it to match, dunno.
