MSVCP120 System issue

Post by scottwallis » Sat Jul 04, 2015 11:27 am

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have a solution to the above system error message that is preventing me form opening ableton. I have re installed the program, re starting, running as admin etc a number of time and i keep getting it this last week or so.

Is anybody else having the same issues?

Thanks

My msvcp120.dll points to Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) - 12.0.21005 (version 12.0.21005.1)

one resides in c:\windows\system32
the other in within c:\program files (x86) Mozilla Firefox

This might help you with knowing which redist. package to examine.

I use windows 7 64bit & Ableton 64bit

Check recycle box for accidental deletion too. Wofty mouse could have been responsible.

Hope this helps

Joel.

Hi Joel

Thanks for the info i'll take a look at that

Seems to happen straight after i install any other software (the other day an arturia vst, and earlier the drivers for a new audio interface) and it only seems to affect Ableton.

Windows 7, 64 bit Ableton

I've downloaded and re installed the latest version of Ableton and my system is fully updated so will see how that works out.

Thanks for your help.

You're welcome Scott.

If you are able to make it happen, you're half way there to working out what it is. If you say that it's possibly after a VST installation, I would move them all out of the VST folder and add them back in one by one until it breaks. You probably know this but also check the manufacturer of your audio interface for updates/downdates.

Assuming you use suite + windows 7, I would be extremely interested to if you get high memory usage + slow loading of certain Orchestral packs.

Joel
