After connecting the external power to the hub the Push shut off and other controllers started acting strange. Now the USB on the push doesn't work at all. It won't turn on unless the external power is connected, and it just does the demo lights show forever when it's powered.
I'm hoping the USB port is the only thing affected and it' didn't hurt anything else. But it's not recognized by any computer with any combination of cables and ports. has anyone gone through this before? I can't talk to ableton until Monday and I'm just stressing out a little bit.
Said hub is under investigation.
the original thread was edited because I found the real issue after troubleshooting
USB hub zapped my Push

Sorry to hear this - hope it gets resolved soon!
Thanks for warning rest of us about this potential hazard...
Who made the Hub??

Re: USB hub zapped my Push
It was a cheap $20 hub from Sabrent. I know I was asking for problems. It doesn't seem like it happens often though. when I talked to them on Friday they were very professional and wanted to get to the bottom of it right away, so I don't want to be one of the customers who is unreasonable, especially when after thinking about it, I guess it could have been the outlet or power strip I was using... I don't want to jump to any conclusions. I'll see what happens and post what comes of it.
does anyone know if the push has a fuse or something to protect it against to much power that might have blown? I had a DS1 and an Ohm RGB also connected that flickered during the tragedy, but they are fine otherwise. I'm guessing they have some kind of precaution in there.

This just happened on my Push 2. Did you get this sorted in the end?

Re: USB hub zapped my Push
cheaply made power supplies generally have less protection circuitry in them...
