MIDI clips-performance data / MIDI notes not linked in edits

Post by noise » Sun Sep 05, 2004 3:16 am

I haven't had a lot of time to look into this, but it appears that when you move MIDI note data around in the clip edit window, the performance controller data (pitch bends, MW, etc) are not linked and therefore are out of sync upon playback... Am I missing some setting or is this just something that has to be addressed manually?

come to think of it... I haven't tested to see if quantization applied to MIDI note data affects the performance data...hmmmm.

While we're at it, I'll add wishlist item number 2:

count in to record.

It would be a nice touch to be able hit record and have a user set count in. As it is now, when I select all and drag my MIDI notes "back to the 1", the performance data doesn't travel "back to the 1"...and sometimes it's rather sticky to drag the pitch bends, etc back to the right place to match the new address of the note data...!

anyone discovered this problem....or a workaround?

I have no work around, but most of the time the midi count in of my sequences doesnt play .... The music still runs in normal time but you cant hear the Hi Hat for the first four beats. More surprising still is that sometimes, though rarely, the count is there, and I am at a loss to explain why. I guess it is just as frustrating as not having a count to record ....
