I heard the main problem with the new Avengers is they introduced too many new characters. I listened to an entire spoiler podcast episode on it, and as great as the Marvel movies are compared to previous decade’s attempts at superhero movies, there really isn’t much to spoil in any of them. They aren’t exactly hotbeds of holy shit plot twists.

No, nothing really new, but the new characters weren't confusing. Iiirc there's 4, 2 right off the bat, Ultron, and then guy at the end. There's validity to the complaints but they weren't as prevalent(?) as expected. I'd say worth a cheap Matinee of possible.

If I don’t see a movie in the theater within the first 2 weeks of release then odds are I won’t see it until its free on Netflix, the only real reason I still get DVDs in the mail.

I haven't seen Ex Machina yet. Thanks for the recommendation. I like creepy...

Here's another solid artificial intelligence/android flick:

Saw What We Do in the Shadows, the New Zealand vampire mockumentary, currently available digitally. Highly recommended if you are into absurd dry humor.

Sounds good.

Ex Machina was good, though not what I expected as far as delivery.

Chappie was a waste. I actually like Die Antwoord less after seeing it. The movie is dumbed down 10x thanks to them being in it.

I was contemplating going to see Ex Machina a couple weeks ago but then I saw it’s already going to be available on Netflix DVD in July. Wish more movies would go that quickly to DVD.

I couldn't make it through Chappie, boring. That was Die Antwoord playing the gang who finds him?

Yeah, Ninja and Yolandi.
It was boring. I fought the want to turn it off halfway through but decided to suffer through it.
There were a couple small enjoyable parts close to the end but not worth it for anyone who hasn't already seen it.

Locke. Tom Hardy deals with major home and work problems entirely through car blue tooth calls while he drives for an hour and a half.

Locke is great! Y'know it was done "for real" so to speak? The car was on a flatbed driving around uk motorways while the other cast phoned in from a hotel room near the location. Hardy had his side of the conversation on autocue screens mounted outside the car. He was sick as a dog for real so they incorporated it into the script.

More like the problem is that his career was already over and his involvement ruined it, except it's a Happy Madison production so who knows how its fruition would be without that...
It's probably ok but alot of people say it's lazy. The last potential is disappointing but hey, it's just another flick so c'est la vie
