master-volume-reset when starting new scene?

Post by audio/fault » Wed Aug 05, 2015 8:04 pm

is there a way to reset the master-volume when starting a new scene (the next song) after it was changed through a midi-controller (apc20)?
occasionally i forget to reset the fader manually...

it's no option to route all tracks to one additional audio-track that contains a dummy-clip to control the volume, as with 50 tracks i don't recognize which of the 8 faders is the right one to control that track...

thanks in advance!

I think Clyphx would be the easiest solution for this.

You set it up to work, and then make a new channel for Clyphx commands. Have a command that resets the master volume as a clip on that scene.

I start to feel like an M4L-Advertiser...

Probably it could be done easy with for example the MultiMap device.
1. Put MultiMap (or anything else which you can Map its knob to the master-volume-fader) on a dummy track and map it to the master-volume-fader.
2. make a dummy clip and make an automation for the desired default volume
3. set the clip-launch options to "not loop"
4. copy that clip along all your scenes, or wherever needed, so that it triggers with the scene-launch.
5. done

4b. Additionally/alternatively you can map a midi-controller (a button would make sense) to the dummy clip's play-button, so you can hit that button whenever you want to reset the master volume.

Hope it helps.

Greetings
Z.
Ah i just realized you will need to remap your apc-volume-fader to the M4L-devices' knob, as it "locks" the volume-fader for any other inputs. I'll still leave it here maybe it helps anyway...
