Roland VDrum recording

Post by aether » Tue Aug 11, 2015 10:27 pm

Hi, All.

I'm using Ableton Live 8 Intro and recording MIDI on a Roland TD-1K kit.

Anyone have suggestions on how to control the velocity? My snare and kit hits are coming in at 127 quite frequently regardless of my playing on the kit. I've adjusted the pad sensitivities which helped a little on some elements like the HH and toms.

Any input on what parameters to look at or other things to check?

If you want to record with lower velocity values, the only way to achieve that is to lower the sensitivity even more on your drum module.

If Live is recording velocity value 127 it means that your drum module sent a midi message with the velocity value 127.

Since this is really a V-drums issue, perhaps you will find some tips on a V-drums forum such as this one?
Live 10 Suite, Push 2, Roland V-drums, lots of plugins, hardware synths and drum machines...
