LFO Tool vs. VolumeShaper

Thoughts? Seems like the big difference is LFO Tool has a filter and VolumeShaper is multiband.

I'd take multi band over filter LFO any day. So VolumeShaper BUT it doesn't even do pan, so I don't know.

BTW the cableguys also have FilterShaper and MidiShaper. The last can be used via Midiloopback pretty much as an LFO for anything in your set.

I was leaning towards LFO Tool but just found out about VolumeShaper and it does seem to fit my needs better. I messed with the filter in LFO Tool’s demo and I don’t know how much I would actually use it. Plus VolumeShaper has a larger window for you to mess with the envelope.

FilterShaper seems interesting but I haven’t seen much being said about it. MidiShaper is a little too much backend programming for my interests.

But have you used VolumeShaper?

LFO Tool seems like an old standard and all I’ve seen from producers using it is quickly slapping it on a banger track with very little, if any, adjustments.

The multiband capabilities of VolumeShaper are quiet nice if you just want to duck certain frequencies. Also I don’t know it LFO Tool can do this but with VolumeShaper you can also trigger it from a MIDI note which is great when you want to do something other than a banger every quarter note.

VolumeShaper looks sweet, but I personally use LFO Tool.

I think it’s a situation of LFO Tool being a better known plugin, it performs a basic task well, and producers see a lot of other producers using it so why look elsewhere or think you even need different options.

Haven't used LFO Tool, but I prefer the look of Volume Shaper. Been toying with the idea of it myself... Seems more versatile...
