Cannot delete "Live/Liverecordings/Temp/00041-audio.aif

Post by kineticUk » Wed Aug 31, 2005 6:40 pm

I have had an error message similar to undo.cfg happen quite regularly so heres some info.
What I was doing
1.Opened live and was working in a new set
2.Used operator and recorded some audio clips into track 1
3.Selected Save as so I could enter a filename for my set.
Entered the filename and OK
4.Error message "Cannot delete "volumes/audiodisk/audio/projekts/live/liverecordings/temp/0004 1-audio.aif"
5.Set does not crash so I ok the message
6.Set still shows the name Untitled
7.To be sure I click save again and close set
After this I checked and the file had been saved ok
Afterwards I noticed there was a file in the preferences folder called AbletonTmp-0000 although I dont know whether this has anything to do with it.

Why do these unable to delete messages happen?

Hi kineticUk,

if you can reproduce this behavior in Live 5.0.1 you could try if you get it too in Live 5.0.2b3.

When you get this message again, please immediately check then if the file exists at all?

Does the Live set you opened contain one or several instances of Absynth?

Why do these unable to delete messages happen?
The message itself reflects what is happening. The corresponding file could not be deleted. Either because the file does not exist at all or because the system function to delete it failed.

regards,
Alex

Hello Alex
The Sets do not contain Absynth As I do not have that.
I will keep you informed when it happens again but wanted you to be aware because it happened on quite a few occasions. However not as much as undo.cfg which seems to be a similar problem.
