Sustain Issue

Post by flachboard » Fri Sep 11, 2015 5:00 pm

So I created a midi track. When I play it, the first 2 or 3 measures are staccato. Then it changes and becomes very sustained for a few measures. Then it switches back to being very staccato. Why is this happening? :?

Maybe you recorded cc#64 (sustain pedal) during those parts. Or automated the release of the sound.

Is it the actual notes that ended up long? Or are they short the entire sequence but make long sounds?

I think I figured it out. I was messing around while recording using the sustain pedal periodically. I'm gonna try redoing it without the pedal. Thanks!

You can also go into the clip itself and look for recorded midi cc info. Then you just draw a flat line over any automation you've inadvertently recorded without requiring a retake.
