Any way to make arrangeme Loop smaller than 0.1.0 in length?

Post by Da hand » Wed Apr 02, 2008 9:23 am

In the arrangement view, is there anyway to make the arrangement's Loop smaller than 0.1.0 in length?

I am trying to copy the melody of a track's vocal and it would be nice to be able to loop sounds one note at a time on more than one track - no matter how short the note.

It seems silly that I cannot make a loop smaller than this. Anyone have a solution?

I am guessing that after a few days of no replies it is not possible.

adjust your songs tempo in small whole numbered ratios.2:1, 4:1,1:2 etc...

During an elaborate project, however, this would take too much time - to convert all the clips and anything else synced with live.

It's a good trick, though, before starting a project. Thanks for your response :)

Ok, made you wait long enough. Here's the answer

see the Warp button?
see below it - it says "Seg Bpm" ?

have a go at pressing the buttons beneath there, particularly the one marked ":2"

It's probably not quite what you want, but it's a fun effect. I agree that we could do with removing that limit on the loop length.

Thanks Angstrom.

Yes, I know about the :2 and *2 buttons. That is in the clip settings. However. I was referring to the arrangement loop.

It would be cool if the limit on the loop length was removed for both the clip loops and the overall arrangement loop.

Actually, I was just looking to see if the option exists inside Ableton. I know it exists in other software. Thanks :)

I'd also be very interested to see if this is possible. 0.1.0 is way too large for my own looping needs. 0.0.1 would be closer to what I'd like without any need for the workarounds suggested in this thread.

Not in arrangement but i can make a clip loop at 1/32 using Maxforlive... You could then record this to the Arrangement view and consolidate it...
