Hey all,
I'm looking for either a particular kind of MFL patch or advice on how to start building one. I'd like something that could detect a set number of midi notes in an active clip - say, 16 - and then allow the user to modulate the pitch of each note by a predetermined amount - ie, 1 semitone. My idea is that I could use it in a live setting to more easily adjust pre-made melodies than building/recreating them each time on a dedicated sequencer - just have some kind of controller with 16 encoders and the necessary language for it and the patch to talk to each other, then an ability to move to a different Live clip and recognize the note layout there. Moving between clips could be done on the aforementioned controller or a separate one with directional inputs like the APC40.
So is there already something like this out there that I've blatantly missed? Would it be easy or prohibitively difficult to build from scratch as a relatively new Max for Live user? I certainly do not wish to come off as a "Hey, do all my homework for me" type, but if it's the latter I would greatly appreciate some jumping-off points in terms of the necessary patch architecture.
Cheers,
-SG
