Hello there!
I've recently begun to notice some crackling and CPU spikes when working in Ableton 9 Suite x64. I recently reinstalled my computer, everything is updated but I haven't noticed this problem before the reinstall, and I haven't changed any of the hardware. And I have been going mad trying to find out what causes it, scouring the web for optimization guides for both Windows 7 and Ableton itself.
Now I think it might be a 3rd party plugin that might be the culprit, but I haven't tested that theory just yet since I heard something from a fellow Ableton user which caught my attention.
I was told, fairly quick and without much detailed info, that large audio files could put such a strain on the system. I've got plenty of CPU power and 32GB of DDR3 memory, so I usually just toss all audio files into RAM Mode. But he mentioned that those large audio files could increase the system load when put into RAM Mode or something like it, so I thought I should try and ask a bit more about here in hope of clearing it up. I haven't been able to find much info about it otherwise.
Anyone know more about this? Or perhaps have an idea of what the problem might be instead?
