A site (don’t remember which one) had a slideshow of celebrities/athletes/politicians seen out in the wild with an Apple Watch on. For me they fit into 1 of 2 categories. A). People I’ve never heard of or B). People I’ve heard of with the disclaimer “Apple gave the Apple Watch to….”

Re: iPad
I use my iPad at home via logmein to use ableton on my upstairs MacPro - works pretty good for sketching at home or even over 3g / wifi out and about. This new iPad Pro would be be even better for that but I would welcome a fully fledged Ableton app
Re: iPad
Have to say I’m really liking the For You section on Apple Music now. It pays attention to what I listen to, buy, and like and creates playlists based on that, that are either genre based, full albums, or intro/best of artist playlists. People were bitching at the beginning because they bought a Britney Spears song in 2011 and it was suggesting a Britney Spears playlist but that was only a few days after launch. You need to give it time to learn. The only possible issue is its constantly creating new playlists so one you really like might disappear by the end of the day. You need to make sure you save playlists you like to your Apple Music library.
PS The new Janet Jackson album BRINGS IT!

There’s too much damn time wasting animation on the touch screen on our new fax/copy/scanner at work compounded by the fact that it doesn’t have the fastest processor in the world.
I blame Apple for setting the precedent of animation on even the most mundane of functions.

Despite my IT and coding background; the two pieces of technology I can't stand, and feel like an idiot in front of, are multifunction printers and faxes.beats me wrote:There’s too much damn time wasting animation on the touch screen on our new fax/copy/scanner at work compounded by the fact that it doesn’t have the fastest processor in the world.

Something I felt weird about yesterday is Roku's forum. I intended to post a question about a stuck remote button for my GF, but simply couldn't register. Roku's captcha instead of a number challenge was, "Separate movies from TV shows: Thor, Lost, Orange Is The New Black, Gone With The Wind, Old Yeller, Game Of Thrones."H20nly wrote:Despite my IT and coding background; the two pieces of technology I can't stand, and feel like an idiot in front of, are multifunction printers and faxes.
Frigg if I have a clue, I don't watch TV. People actually know this stuff?

It’s a forum for a box that streams movies and TV shows. Not too much of a stretch that they’d think you know popular movies and TV shows.
Re: iPad
They need to make a documentary series that hunts these people down and then removes every appliance and piece of tech they own that is manufactured under similar conditions. Dumbasses.
Re: iPad
Roku is a box I bought my GF so she can watch TV news from Asia live. (Asian TV stations without free Net presence). No one we know watches Hollywood flicks on Roku, actually.beats me wrote:It’s a forum for a box that streams movies and TV shows. Re: iPad
Not doubting you, but nobody I know uses a Roku box for anything other than movies and TV shows. Maybe it's a Hawaii/Asia thing you have going on over there.mrdelurk wrote:Roku is a box I bought my GF so she can watch TV news from Asia live. (Asian TV stations without free Net presence). Yeah, as if the competition was better. If anything, the conditions under which rival products and pretty much any appliance or electronic device sold anywhere in the world are much worse.beats me wrote:at the people giving the new Steve Jobs movie a poor rating simply because “He used child slave labor to manufacture his products!!”

And not because Apple is kind and gentle to its hard-working employees, but because they can afford it and want a somewhat decent image, especially after the working conditions already got attention in the past.
People are so stupid and naïve.

Look, you can have a factory that makes electronics for several companies including Apple be in the news because of worker suicides. The story that will be reported is that it is the Apple factory, completely negating everyone else that makes their stuff there. Apple is no worse than anyone else, they are just the most popular to hate.
