midi map plug-in parameters

Post by RabidC » Mon Feb 28, 2011 4:44 pm

hi, sorry if this question pops up everywhere, but im having alot of trouble figuring out how to midi map some of the controls on some vst's to my apc40, i have a feeling im not going to be able to do it without max4live or bomes or something... which would be fine i just dont know anything about reading or writing midi messages... and in that case, does anyone know a good resource to learn those things????

You should go to the vst you want to map in the devices. There you should click on the little triangle in the upper left corner to expand the view.

Now you should see "configure" in the upper right corner of the device. Click on that. You can then move some knobs in your vst which you want to map. Those parameters should then appear as horizontal faders in the ableton device. When your done press escape.

You can map those horizontal faders to the desired midi controller the normal way by right clicking it.
