Ableton Live 9 Suite wants to make changes -after M Lion upd

Just updated from SL to ML and am now getting this somewhat irritating message on starting Live 9 (or 9 beta)

I verified permissions on the Mac disk (but couldn't see this option on my ext HDD with library and music on it).

Message is "Ableton Live Suite wants to make changes - type password to allow this - doesn't matter if I do or click cancel, Live starts up ok.

This doesn't happen with Suite 8 (both are 64bit). EDIT: Yes it does - both 8 & 9

I'd be grateful for any advice.

This seems to have gone away on it's own. Today - no message. Sunday - message.. Ah well.

This still happens to me every time I switch between Ableton 9 and Ableton 8 (DJ template works best in . Does anyone know what it is that is getting changed? Something in the library? Just curious. It doesn't seem to harm anything but it is weird. . . -JD

Check that your user has write permission to your Temp and Cache dirs.

Not solved for me in Ableton Live 9.7 Suite, I get this pop up every time in OS 10.12.3 Sierra. I have removed it from my keychain and deleted preferences and after every restart it asks me for this before I can open Ableton.
