Missing samples for presets
I have noticed that a lot of my samples are missing for the presets
for example
on impulse if i click on the brain tease setting
i get the following message
the sample c:\documents and settings\the unknown wanderer\my documents\ableton\library\presets\impulse\kick635.wav
has been either moved or renamed would you like to replace .........
where are they cos since ive had five installed i have never moved them or many more like them.
if i look in these folders they are blank

Hi unknown wanderer,
Do you have this problem with several presets or just the
one you mention?
Did you modify the preset or is it supposed to be the original
one? In the latter case the samples should be located in
<Library-Path>/Waveforms/Drums/....
Maybe you email me the preset file in question,
you find them in <Library-Path>/Presets/Impulse/<Some sub-directory>
Kind regards, Friedemann

missing samples
I am having a similar problem with my tacklebox and beatbox samples...
its seems to have coped with the upgrade fine when it comes to the presets for the effects and the user preset names appear in the correct folder but its having BIG problems with the sample
eg I double click on the preset it then brings up the Locate Sample box...
I find the sample it loads. I go to the next one do the same, it does the same thing over
then I go back to the first one and it asks me again.
Why is it not remebering where the sample is? Does the sample have to be in a particular folder?
I went back to my Live 4 and it was all working fine. It seems to be able to see where the samples are but why not Live 5?
Please someone tell me I am doing something wrong so i can get on with using the program.
Thanks

Hi All,
let me make some general remarks about Live 4 presets in Live 5:
1) Presets that use samples outside the Live 4 factory content
should work fine, even when the preset is inside the new library
structure it will look for its sample(s) in the original place.
2) Presets the use samples from Live 4's Factory Content will not find
their samples unless the Live 4 compatibility Live Pack is installed.
Follow the link below for download instructions:
http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24778
3) In the case of 3rd-party presets (e.g. those from Trackteam Audio)
there are possibly updates from the vendors necessary.
The renaming of some audio files in the library was done during
the early beta phase of Live 5, presets created with early beta versions
of Live 5 could suffer from this problem and you would need to manually
relocate the missing samples. The renaming does however not affect the
compatibility to Live 4 (see point 2), this can only be achieved by installing
the Live 4 Live Pack.
Hope the helps a bit.
Best regards, Friedemann
