Sadly, no one filmed what went on in Sabra and Shatila... we don't get to see the footage of the 'smart' bombs hitting residential areas, schools, hospitals, in Iraq now and ten years ago or in Lebanon twenty years ago... there was that one blip with the soldier shooting the insurgent who 'pretended to be dead' but it was sweeped away like a one-off. Like fuck it was.

I am sure this picture may not exist if federal budget cuts to the Dept of Engineers did not happen. The levys in New Orleans would have been better designed to sustain large flooding, disater plans, etc.. This was known to happen one day...I am not a scientist and common sense tells me any city sitting below sea level in hurricane region would some day overflow.. I have heard that there were numerous budget cuts nationwide to go towards military spending and Iraq. The USA needs to take better care of urban cities and at home problems before causing fights abroad. Poor, black ,urban cities are full of homeless, poor education, health problems, violence, housing issues, and straight down, hardcore neglected.. At least if war is /was needed, it should only be when attacked upon or really necessary. Maybe we can look at Katrina as a wakeup call to Americans!

What's actually ironic is that the "think Tank" behind GW (Wolfovitz,...), they all come from the liberal NYC educated culture, and developed their theories of neo-conservatism through Trotsky's influence, not some far right BS. The failure of the 60's Left, to bring real democracy and worldwide peace lead to those neo con views in the US as in Europe too. That if We As A People fails, well, WE As An Elite will succeed.
