Push 2 drum rack , step sequencer not showing playing grid

Seems when I choose an new pad and hit play, the sequencer won't play the sequencing lights unless I hit record. Is there any way around this? Every time I want to add another sample to another pad and want to punch in a pattern, I have to hit record first for each pad.

Yeah did that too, but the individual moving green light in the sequencer won't show until I hit record and hit again to turn off record. Wanted this light to always turn on.

sorry couldn't be of help as I don't have a push but just curious are you describing a workflow that you would like or are you saying there is a bug and something isn't working correctly?
