I know, right? What they are essentially also saying is they won’t be offering a bigger discount for the holidays because that would piss a lot of early adopters off. Could they not make rent this month or something? They should have dropped it without any discount offer with people possibly expecting a holiday discount and then offer that for the holiday season….and how about more than $20 for us loyal customers for a limited time.

I don’t know about you assholes, but this asshole has a short list of music software I’m keeping my eye out for holiday discounts on. Exhale has just been removed from that list for all of the above reasons.

last weekend, i was looking into upgrading some of my Waves plugins to the latest version so they'd be 64 bit. while doing that, my girlfriend came over, demanded i go to sushi with her... where we got shit faced on sake and beer with the "chefs" and she offered me some Valium someone randomly gave her. in my sake educed state of ultimate enlightenment i opened my mouth :o to allow [THEM] to land in it.... after i got home i [apparently] continued to upgrade Waves.

i don't exactly remember my gear lust, but it happened... in... 3 easy(?) payments. that's right, i closed one eye while swerving on my stool and entered the credit card, not one, but three times. :|

i woke up on the floor at 2 am with 3 emails from Waves referencing 2 different bank accounts detailing my evening.

i now own the entire Chris Lord Alge collection AND got all my other plugins updated to latest versions. this was not cheap. :x

no cyber-Monday for me.

H20nly that story, priceless.

I've kinda been on a buying spree lately so I'm probably not going to be picking anything up.
Not so short list:
Sound Toys 5 - complete bundle from them.
Maschine Expansions,
Third party Expansions,
UVI Falcon,
UVI Prepared Piano ,
Percussion Hits by Spectrum Arts
Sample Tank SE (mostly for 64 bit versions of Sample Moog and tines, Miroslav, etc.)
Izotope RX5 upgrade
Magic A/B

If Falcon or Soundtoys go on sale on Cyber Monday I would pick them up for sure.
Plus Magic A/bis pretty much instantly indispensable.

no cyber-Monday for me.
 My profuse apologies, but that totally made my morning!

Although I can in no way compete with that story, I once managed to order the wrong plugin after some unspecified amount of red wine. The company turned out to be very cool about it, though, and hooked me up with the instrument I meant to buy - *and* let me keep the other one. :)

That was epic, H2! I can’t recall the last time I made a substantial music purchase under the influence. It was probably something I was on the fence about for months because that’s what you do when you are mature and responsible, hesitate in the off chance that the sky might fall or any lesser money costing emergencies.

Having to pay for upgrades just so they are 64bit. :?

I had an OP-1 with case and all accessories (bundled, a sale, OMG!) mysteriously get charged to my bank account after an unusually boisterous beer tasting. :)

Like Beats said, one of those things I was on the fence for months about, and then one moment of weakness seals the deal.

I have my EDM arsenal pretty solid and up to current clichés but now I feel like I want to do more epic soundtracky type music which is closer to what I normally do anyway. But that’s a whole other set of sounds/tools. :?

Most of my time lately has been spent on downloading individual samples from Splice and then converting and organizing them into Apple Loops for use later.

Because I mostly use Logic now, although upgrading to Live 9 might be tempting with a holiday discount.

Converting to Apple Loops is kind of tedious because unlike Live it doesn’t warp tracks. So I have to make the project tempo match the loop tempo and then drag the file to the Apple Loops browser. But the big bonus is I can also tag them when I convert, although semi limited. A beat is just a beat. So if I have a breakbeat loop I start the file name with “Brk”, Drum & Bass – “DnB”, etc. For vocals I start with “Voc”, but that’s mostly so they stay together when looking at all my loops. I can tag them as just vocal and then further with male or female.

When all is said and done I just go to “my loops” in the Apple Loops drop down and pick the “Vocal” and “Female” tags and it will just show me those. For beats you can also sort in tempo order. Awesome.

I really have no clue what Live offers for this kind of organization but its browser in general has never been seen as a strong point.

no need to apologize. at this point, anything that gets more value out of my purchase is a bonus

Queue Angstrom in 10, 9, 8, 7....

I never use it, haven't for years, I organize as best as a disorganized fuck like me can in the Finder etc.
I always mean to get AudioFinder up and running but I end up mainly using it for other tasks...

I don't use too many loops though, so...
