looking for a eq to replace eq3

Post by atomic » Mon Sep 05, 2005 1:53 am

I want an eq with a little less color when set to flat. So I am looking for a good three band eq to use for a "DJ" setup. If you know of a good one i would love to hear from you.

Ok off to KVR to hunt......

you can use EQ4 as a 3 band eq, just switch one band off and move the middle band to about 800-1000hz. EQ4 doubles as a lp/hp filter too...

i tried that but when i use my midi controller in conjunction with it i have to turn the post clockwise to cut and that is just not going to work out after almost 10 years of turning it counter-clockwise to cut as I will fuck it up for sure in the heat of the moment. I will take another look at it tonight to see if there is a way around it with eq 4 though

In Live 5 you can invert the direction of your MIDI control by inverting the values when you set the control to the interface

if the left knob is lo cut, set low value to about 1k and the high value to about 50hertz. so the knob will turn down the bass when you turn it to the left.

works great.

holly crap! blow me down. i have a post for this in the feature request forum

Ok i have got this working and the eq 4 just cant cut enough for my use. So i am back to the eq 3. It seems so strange that i could not find another eq like the eq3 out there. So i guess in the end i am glad to have the eq3.

iZoptope Ozone 3 has a great eq too, but needs more cpu cycles. but for detailed tweaking, this is the best for me.
