"4 pin dv and 6 pin firewire pcicards" what ro do

I have packardbell I design PC ( not standard size) I want to buy firewire but they seem only to sell 6 pin terminal, my DV-camcoder (samsung) has 4 pin terminal what do I do?, can I exchange the terminals, will they be compatible to my firewire DV jack?

Hi namangaya,

I think you just need an adapter from the 6pin to 4pin.
Normally it's an adavantage to have the 6pin because the additional pins are for power. As example this could be useful for an external 2,5" FW disk so that you'll need no external power supply.
