Live, my drummer uses an SPDS pad to control the "Track Activator/Speaker On" on 4 drum stems (Kick, Snare, Hats, Percussion)....He uses this to turn off and on certain elements when we jam (mute/activate)...
I'm trying to program automation so that whenever we start a new song, all of the stems are "activated", no matter whether or not the previous state of the stem was activated or muted from the song beforehand...
Our set is arranged like this
Scene 1: Song I (all stems on)
Scene 2: Song I Jam A (stems can be muted on/off)
Scene 3: Song I Jam B (stems can be muted on/off)
Scene 4: Song I Jam C (stems can be muted on/off)
Scene 5: Song II...(stems are automatically turned back on when this scene launches)
Scene 6: Song II Jam A...(stems can be muted on/off)
I seem to have accomplished this with automation set to "speaker on" at the start of every "song" scene...however, when we trigger the next "jam" scene, the activator state follows where it was set in the previous song, when it ended...for example, if we ended the previous song (Song 1, Jam C) with the snare and hat stems muted, then Song II, Jam A will launch with those stems muted, even though we automated them back on when we launched the "Song II" scene.
Sorry if that's confusing, but my goal is so that each time we start a new song, the activate/mute state of all the drums stems is ON and stays on until we mute them again manually in the following Jam.
Any advice?
