free synth for lite edition

why doesnt ableton give a synth (just a basic one) with lite version ? it would be nice if it had a quality freebie .

I suppose the assumption is that Simpler can be used as a synth in a pinch. After all, Live is heavily focused on audio loops and MIDI wasn't even available until Live 4.

There are so many free softsynths out there, it's easy to just grab one of those.

It is a freebie in itself, thrown in on some hardware deal. If you want more of Live you have to buy. If you want all the Ableton Instruments, you have to buy the Suite edition.

You can't even buy Lite editions: They're a tool to market the larger versions.

I already own the suite, but I think you have a good suggestion. In the meantime, other people in this thread are right - there are lots of good free VST soft-synths out there. Cheers.
