Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is a lot of fun. London in 1868 is probably the best city of the series.

Sorry no link, but looks like Sony just showed a bunch of demo footage from games for their 2016 VR helmet, including reenacting the wire walk between the world trade towers.
My question is would you even need a TV or monitor for this? Seems if everything is showing right on the helmet you wouldn’t, but that also brings into question sound. Wireless headphone option?
Re: What game are you playing now
Wireless headphones would be pretty pointless since all "current" VR headsets will be wired AFAIK.beats me wrote:Sorry no link, but looks like Sony just showed a bunch of demo footage from games for their 2016 VR helmet, including reenacting the wire walk between the world trade towers. My question is would you even need a TV or monitor for this? And many people will probably skimp on their actual screen/TV if they have the intention of mainly using VR but not getting a screen alltogether is probably stupid because 1. you can't do everything in VR right now, in fact most apps/games/programs and even the OS itself work only or at least better in regular mode. 2. A screen is more social since another person can see what you're doing. 3. It's probably useful to set things up and troubleshoot as well, watching the action on a screen first instead of diving into VR headfirst.
Besides, people already have an HDMI TV anyway for their PS4 and it would be pretty stupid to have a powerful gaming PC as well without even spending 100 bucks for a decend 1080p HD screen.

I was thinking for households that don't have enough TVs for the people who live there. You don't have to have kids fighting over the TV if one can use the VR helmet without it.
Re: What game are you playing now
Yeah, thanks to VR, kids all over the world will be able to play Mario Party while their daddy's sitting right next to them watching drooling an smiling awkwardly while experiencing his "grown-up VR".beats me wrote:BoddAH wrote:Wireless headphones would be pretty pointless since all "current" VR headsets will be wired AFAIK.beats me wrote:Sorry no link, but looks like Sony just showed a bunch of demo footage from games for their 2016 VR helmet, including reenacting the wire walk between the world trade towers. My question is would you even need a TV or monitor for this? A couple other scenarios.
More than 1 kid in the family.
If you don’t need a TV then it doesn’t need to be played in the same room as the family TV.

Re: What game are you playing now
I ordered the Uncharted Nathan Drake Collection from Amazon for PS4 for $30, don’t even think it’s a holiday special. Can’t beat 3 remastered AAA classics for that price and I should be all ready for when the 4th and final installment is released in March (because I will most likely only play a 4th of each game and move on
)
For all you online gamers, do you ever think about the high probability that you might be playing with a celebrity since a lot of them claim to be gamers?
It’s not all 14-year-old racists, just mostly.

Most celebrities claiming to be gamers are probably just posers that want to look cool with the kids or are even paid by the gaming industry to endorse a game/console.beats me wrote:

Even if some of them actually are gamers, they're probably pretty casual and the likelyhood of meeting them online, let alone them actually being good/famous in game is probably pretty low.
Re: What game are you playing now
I was in the tower in Destiny with Johnny Depp and Danny Devito. Those were their gamer tags, so it had to be them.
I once saw ChubbyChaser there as well, but he's not so famous.

Re: What game are you playing now
Ordered Until Dawn from Amazon, also for $35. The latest Metal Gear Solid is also on Amazon for that price.
Re: What game are you playing now
I'm almost done with Witcher 3 at long last. I finished the main story, but then I got sucked into all the secondary quests, the Hearts Of Stone DLC, and too hours playing Gwent. I have a few more ?'s on my map to check out, then I can put this one to bed until the next DLC comes out
Probably going to get that Nathan Drake collection for PS4, always wanted to play that series when I was using an Xbox, looks really cool. If it's half as good as TLOU.....

Re: What game are you playing now
I finished MGSV a few weeks ago. Since they released that game on PC I would love for Konami to release a Metal Gear Solid collection like they did on PS3. I would enjoy to play the entire series now but I don't own a PlayStation.
Re: What game are you playing now
Just finished the Uncharted series, which was obviously much shorter than something like Witcher 3.
Really fun overall, especially the second game which had the best story and banter among the actors. Number 3 was a pretty wild ride though, even if the story was a bit shakey toward the end.
I never realized from the previews and reviews how much of a mass murderer Nathan Drake is though, he must have killed 10,000 enemies by the end of the 3rd game. Definitely a lot more combat than I was expecting, but after awhile I just told myself he was an ex-Navy Seal or something with issues.
Time for a PS4 break now I think....

Re: What game are you playing now
This weekend I got to 99% complete on the first Uncharted. Then the last boss battle became a game of Simon Says/Dragon’s Lair I kept dying on. Don’t feel the need to finish it. I’ll just watch the end on YouTube and move on. I heard the 2nd is the best in the series so far.
But I moved on to Until Dawn which is like playing a choose your own adventure horror movie and “all your decisions have an impact.” I’m semi drawn in but not to the point that I can’t put the controller down because I want to know what happens next.
