How to get MIDI Keyboard to work with Best Service Engine 2

Post by GabryRox33 » Fri Jan 08, 2016 8:51 am

I am trying to get my MPK249 to work with a few Best Service libraries, accessed through their Engine 2 Sampler. I have searched the internet and looked through the Engine 2 docs but can't seem to figure out how to set this up. When I launch Engine 2 (either stand alone or through Live), I load a library (say Epic World) and I can play the sounds by mouse clicking the keyboard within Engine. But when I turn on my MPK249, I can't get it to play the notes.

This is what I have tried so far:

- Turn on the MPK
- Launch Engine 2
- In the instrument box on the left, ensure that Midi Chan is set to "All"
- Click on File, Midi preferences
- Here there are 32 Midi In & out options, all appear blank initially
- In all of the "In" windows, I have 3 options:
- MidiIN2 (MPK249)
- MidiIN3 (MPK249)
- MidiIN4 (MPK249)
- I have tried selecting all 3 of these but still no sound comes through the MPK. I have even tried various combinations of IN and OUT in other ports but nothing works.

I know the MPK is functioning correctly because it plays other instruments fine (sylenth1, etc). In addition, I loaded another Best Service pack (Accordians) into Kontakt 5 (standalone) and the MPK works with it fine.

Is there some setting on Engine that I am missing somewhere here?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Well, for whatever reason, this worked (within Live) when I tried it today. Gotta say, best service has some amazing libraries! Amazing sounds and excellent customer service as well! Highly recommended and they have a 2 for 1 sale on until Jan 10th!
