Recording Automation in Arrangement View

I think the title describes my whole problem.

How do you guys do this?

Shift+record

Select/play clips you want to record to arrangement

Now you have an arrangement without automation

I normally do the automation after I get the ararngement done

Simply press Shift+record again, then turn the knobs you want for automation (it's getting recorded now)
