Arm tracks with a knob (without an APC or Launchpad)

Post by toonableton » Sat Jan 23, 2016 9:14 pm

Hey,

I was wondering if it's possible to arm tracks in the session view with a knob. With an APC or Launchpad you can arm a track by selecting a clip on that track right? Or there are even record buttons on each track of the APC. Unfortunately I don't own a clip launch controller and I'm not planning to buy one. So is it possible to switch between tracks (for example to arm another midi instrument) with a knob?

Thanks!

If "the knob" sends midi I imagine you would be able to map a command to it but you would need a couple knobs (I believe ) one for next track and one for arm. Hopefully someone else will chime in but it may also depend on what type of midi is being sent, values, on off, step etc...

I'm no expert though.

Maybe look at the Korg Nano 2, it maps perfectly to Ableton and you can find them super cheap.
