Been watching The Roosevelts on Netflix, a series originally run on PBS. I think something like 12 hours in total. Theodore, Eleanor, and Franklin, all badasses in their own right. And not to get political, but they were the zenith of the federal government helping and protecting the poor and the middle class. Before then Presidents mostly sat on the sidelines and let state’s rights take care of most things. After them it’s pretty much been all about dismantling or attempting to dismantle the work they did for the poor and middle class. :|

Franklin would frequently just go up to the common man and go “How things going for you? Have any ideas on how we can improve things?” And this was before the secret service and government entourages we have now. He would just be motoring around by himself and do that. 8O

Cable providers should allow you to build your own stations, like something passive where you create a station that runs just episodes of the shows you like. DVR is active participation where you have to pick exactly what and when to watch. This would run more like a regular station where you can’t pick exactly what episodes will play. Or maybe get all Pandora and tell it to just run specific genres of shows or base it on actors/directors/creators/etc. keywords.

I hope it was better than "Montage Of Heck". On one hand it was interesting (disturbing) some of the f***ed up stuff he did when younger, on the other it was annoying all the unneeded animations and such to their music all the time.

To my ears Nirvana is one of the most overhyped bands in history. Don’t dislike their music, just don’t get the heaps of adoration.

On that note, I was scrubbing around the Apple Music exclusive movie of Taylor Swift’s current tour. Concert footage mixed with her blabbering. I like some of her tracks and have pretty much ignored her personal drama, but there was a segment when she was talking about how she lost the Grammy for album of the year to Daft Punk and that caused her to do some deep soul searching and need to change things up. WTF? Millions of fans and albums sold, sold out concerts in massive arenas, and not winning the Grammy for album of the year was spirit crushing and made her feel lost and irrelevant?? Talk about self-important. Ironically that’s a Kanye West sized ego.

I'd be upset too, it was a shit album to lose to. :)

To me the genius of Nirvana was always Butch Vig behind the scenes. There's a lot of messed up song writers out there with solid tunes, but being able to put that into a context people other than messed up song writers would appreciate was the genius. I'm not saying they're not solid songs, I just think that it was how they were presented more than anything that made them stand out above the rest of the bands who'd been doing the same sort of things for decades.

Giving the Taylor Swift concert another go because shut up. I don't know if it's her age, height, or her outfits or all of the above, but her trying to come off as confident sexy is just painfully awkward. Also she got a bunch of other top artists to go on stage and perform their hit song with her like it's an awards show, but they don't show any of it beyond 10 second snippets to prove that it happened. It's like watching a movie trailer of great moments that don't appear in the actual movie. :x

New X-Files? Any interest here?

Better than I thought it would be, though largely more of the same as before too. Still, kinda fun going down memory lane. Even if the main characters have apparently forgetting everything that happened in the first 9 episodes, I haven't.

I was never really a fan of the X-Files so I’m probably not going to become one now. I’m sure it’s for the fans and they aren’t trying to win any new viewers over.

Enjoying the new X-Files. Never invested in the originals so it was just straight up entertaining. Enough of a UFO geek to notice sloppy historical errors ("UFOs over Washington was '52 not '57, FFS!")... but I liked how the new conspiracy theme was prefigured by a 1998 Elementz of Noize choon.
