ABLETON and ReCycle?

I'm new to Ableton Live and dabbling with creating my own loops/samples. Anyone like using the software ReCycle to create their initial loops/samples/rex files? Or does everyone like doing their splicing in Ableton Live? I'm wondering if ReCycle is a good investment and will complement Live, or if I should save my money? Thank you!!!

I think ReCycle is redundant for the most part if you are using Live.

ReCycle at this point is more of a museum piece. "Look how we used to do it way back when!" I have a license for ReCycle but I can't remember that last time I used it.
I believe you can demo it from Propellerheads if you want. I would liken it to baking your own bread vs. buying bread at a bakery.

You would be better off I think with a full audio editor like Sound Forge, Wavelab, or the excellent free editor Audacity. None of these editors will easily chop a loop like ReCycle though. If you are a Mac user there are few other audio editors that I can't recall at the moment.

Recycle can't do anything more than Live can do, except save a loop in Propellerhead's proprietary REX file format.

I am a recycle fan. I am amazed that Live's transient detection is still not as good. I still use it on complex rhythms and breaks, because in the end it's tighter and quicker than slicing in Live.
