consolidate gain change

Hi guys,

does anyone know why ableton changes my clip gain when consolidating two clips? Anyway to turn this off?
using ver 9.12 btw

It's not dropping the actual level down, it's just setting the gain meter relatively to show the space between the audio's current level and normalized / clipping levels. Test for yourself -- just consolidate and hit playback, you'll notice no change in playback volume; if you did, obviously that would be weird. The drop in "gain" is just a smart tool, your audio isn't being tampered with.
