I'm using a motu track 16 connected via usb 2 to a macbook pro and can't get a guitar signal to show up.
El capitan 10.11.3
motu track 16 with audio driver MAI_Mac_67918, and firmware updates track16103_mac
Ableton 9.6
The guitar level reads on the motu device.
The core audio driver and motu device are selected in ableton > prefs
No sound level shows up in the audio track.
Anyone had this trouble and could step me through a solution?
Thank you.

Re: newbie can't get motu track 16 working
is the audio track set to take audio from the correct external input in the "Audio From" section? if so you should see your signal on the itsy bitsy input meter with the channel number on it.
if you have the routing set up correctly, the Monitor setting for the track then determines how Live handles the incoming signal. on the default "Auto" setting, you will not see a signal unless the track is armed for recording. if you want to monitor the signal without arming the track you need to click the "In" button.
