Hello everyone,
I'm thinking about upgrading ableton to 64bit to be able to use more ram. Do I have to completely uninstall the ableton 32bit version and fully install the 64bit version or is there some kind of "64bit version patch"?
I'm operating with el capitan.
Thx in advance

You need to reinstall the 64 bit version completely. You can have both 32+64 bit installed if you need though

Thx for your reply! I've read that having both installed can lead to problems though and that ableton doesn't recommend it?

Not sure on that. Personally I ditched 32bit the micro second 64bit live was available so don't run 2 versions myself.
If possible i'm a firm believer of running all 64 bit on a 64 bit system if possible but if you must run both then that's how it is.
