Sound Drops Out Randomly on Playback

Hi

I am using Live Lite 8 and I have recently developed a problem where the playback on a recording just randomly loses sound output for a few seconds. I have never had this problem before and it is happening on both newly recorded tracks and those that have been recorded some time ago. Has anyone experienced this and do you have any advice? It is becoming extremely frustrating. Thanks.

I am running Windows 10 with 8 gigs RAM and an i5 processor. Audio interface is Line 6 POD UX1.

I have the same problem here,
sounds disappear randomly.
Ableton 9.6 OSX El Capitan, neither logic or protools have these sound problems. It interferes with my concentration.
Ableton is my favorite daw.

Through a lengthy process of elimination I identified the problem. Turns out a plugin compressor I was using had an expired licence! My fault entirely but it seems you've got to really keep on top of these things.
