(Parents should ban MTV and all that crap from their homes)

WTF are you talking about ?
I'm talking about the stupidization/standarization of masses through the media. Have you turned on MTV lately? The same songs over and over again...Haven't you seen how the Iraq war is totally distorted? Haven't you ever been on a pub where TV is on and people stares at it just BECAUSE IT'S ON? Haven't you seen little boys on a supermarket begging their parents for the latest yada yada that is advertised on TV? COME ON MAN!!!

Nothing new, I didn't invent it, in fact some of the most renowned researchers of that phenomena are from North America, Europe. Have you heard of Naomi Klein? NO LOGO? Read it and open your eyes.

Its a question of views, nothing to do with military control, if you don't have anything clever to say, please stay shut. By the way, all the dictatorshits that plagued south america were imposed with help from the CIA. No conspiray theories here, it's just the way it is.

Yo, chill out man, what's up with that xenofobic bullshit you just wrote? I meant standing on a corner doing my music while the show is on you dumb.

I don't really get it, were did you get all that anger?

It's the first time i've had to reply a post in this way in this forum.
Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it's all about. Total control now.

Yeah. Come to uruguay when/if you have the time/money. It's a third world country, agreed, but you may get surprised at how different it must be from what you imagine.

We don't eat tacos. No dictatorship. No wankers in the corners of clubs (well, i can't really say that for sure). And most of the people here have italian/spanish genes. The same happens in Buenos Aires (Argentina).

I meant no offense, but your post really made me explode.

Anyway, I'm also an advocate of AutoTune since it is not meant to make a horrible singer sound good. If the singer sucks, AutoTune will not sound natural when trying to fix the error. Trust me. So a singer still has to give out a great performance, otherwise every bad performance or bad note sequence corrected by AutoTune will sound like the Cher track.

I think Robbie Williams is a gifted entertainer.

Perhaps the jealous chin-strokers disagree. But all the talk of buggery, shooting, cringing performances, and bothering to make lengthy negative forum posts publicizes your own insecurities.

I saw a documentary recently that depicted him as a real human being with feelings, problems, and issues just like the rest of us. He came from a humble background and actually struggles with his celebrity status.

Williams is a great front man, he's got a lot of front.

And he's not a bad song writer, although I think his stuff's gone downhill since he split with Guy Chambers as his writing partner (the first two albums or so I think).

Personally, I'd say these are the two most important qualities for a pop star to have. Being a great singer comes secondary to these things, and he's by no means a really bad singer.

Anyroad...

I'm impressed by the knowledge some of you people seem to have about "Real" recording, so can you give me some advice...

1, Unlike Williams, I really am a rubbish singer. Would autotune therefore be useless to me? Because I'm a bedroom producer with noone to engineer for me, recording is quite a tedious process, so I tend to go for the best take I have after five or so, then if necessary cut and paste the good bits of each take together.

2, Are there any cheaper rival products to autotune? It seems to me autotune has been arround ages and if the price is still £300 sterling or so, then theres a gap in the market for something that does the same and costs a third.

3, can anybody suggest sites or books of whatever that have advice on:

i Recording vocals in general.
ii, Recording Vocals in Live.
iii, Singing for recording.
pop music is not a toy
