Laptop Problem - won't boot up.

If this is a motherbord problem, this is the 2nd motherboard prob I have ahd with it. It has already had one motherboard replaced. What could be causing these problems if it is a motherbard issue???

Are you using an Echo Indigo sound card by any chance?

it is probably a disk controller or the disk itself - I've seen this happen a bunch of times - I suggested the defrag thing but if it isn't getting past the post it is more than likely the controller , the disk or maybe even ram believe it or not. Boot sector viruses aren't that common anymore and you'ds know it by gibberish on the screen... can you boot the system from a cd rom and go into recovery mode with it?

I'm not using an Indigo soundcard. Disk controller??? yeah, well hopefully I'll get the chance to abck everything up before I send it back...
Not sure how the retailer is going to react. Am I pushing it looking for a new laptop regarding all the problems I've had???
