Hello all. I just came across something in FM8 that is driving me crazy so I am checking if anyone knows of a simple fix for this. Here is a thread on NI about it but there are no answers.

My problem is that when I have an FM8 patch with the arpeggiator on, it drops the first beat and starts on the second beat. I have isolated this to happening ONLY in 64-bit mode. I have dual installed the new 9.1 Live version in 64-bit mode and the 9.0.6 (32-bit) application just because of this. Strangely, in the 32-bit application, FM8 starts correctly on the first arpeggiator note. Since I am swapping both FM8 and Ableton from 32bit to 64bit, I can't tell which software has the issue.
It is sad that I have to say this but FM8 was purchased…it isn't due to some junk hacked version. Would anyone have a clue as to where the issue is or how I can further troubleshoot it?
Oh here is a even stranger thing that I found with this bug. So I am working in the arrangement view with FM8 in a midi track. If I put the start marker right on the start of the midi clip, it will play the first arp note but if I start from an earlier position, it will miss the first arp note. I can hear it but also see the yellow marker skip 1 and start on 2. Huh? It almost feels like it is a key sync bug in the FM8 arpeggiator.

Ableton 64-Bit v 9.1
Ableton 32-Bit v 9.0.6

Were you ever able to figure this out? I'm having the same problem.

I believe this is a bug in FM8. This is an old bug NI never got to fixing back when they converted to 64 bit VSTis. I don't think the 32 bit version have this issue.
