You have to make some kind of compromise, depending on the material and your intentions.

Also, you have to Test and listen to each type of warp mode.

There should now be enough info on here for you to kinda explore your options and decide which path to take.

Also, the type of MP3 tells us the format. But the 'source' can be varied still. We don't know if it is from a distribution site, ripped from YouTube, recorded off vinyl etc.

For example, if it is recorded off of vinyl, there might be fluctuation in tempo. In which case, you might use more warp markers.

If it is a from the artist almost direct, then it might have spot-on tempo and you can use way less warp markers.

If you use almost no warp markers, you Could use repitch mode successfully without it warbling.

So that's one path. But the. The compromise is that if you play at a wrong tempo or have abrupt tempo changes in your mix, it might stick out. Then you'd want to mix differently, or use a different mode. Also, if you mix based on the key of a track, repitch is useable...at the appropriate tempo, but if you change bpm, your track is changing key.

These are just the problems that are inevitable in all mixes. Whether it be on vinyl, or on Traktor, when you force two tracks to merge where at least one has an unnatural tempo, there are minute consequences.

So in simple terms could anyone give me a pretty easy to follow guide on what I need to do to most effectively fix the problem? I feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel now!
IMO, don't use Live for playing back MP3s. There are other apps that do this so much better. If you want to make special edits or do live remixing get lossless source material. I never buy MP3, only lossless. MP3 was not created to be mangled with, re-pitched or beat-adjusted, and there are artefacts in there that modulating the playback will make poignantly noticeable. This may not be so when played back in the original tempo.

Following some pointers posted in this topic, I've actually managed to work it out, and without using a single warp marker! Cheers.
