More macro knobs for Drum Racks (to make Ultra Drum Racks)
By now, most of you know the Drum Rack Selector trick (load 8 Samplers into 8 pads on the Drum Rack, load each one with up to 128 one shots of a drum type, distribute across selection range, map selection range to macro knob - instant customizable drums). The only drawback is there are only 8 macro knobs available, and therefore only 8 parts. It would be great to have at least 4 more (or 8!). That way, you could have 2 Kicks, and Open and Closed Hi Hat, Snare, Clap, Lo Tom, Mid Tom, Hi Tom, Crash and Ride!

There are several Max4Live devices that will give you more macro knobs than you could ever need.
Another way to get around the 8-knob limit is to nest racks within other racks, with macros at each level in the chain.

I don't use max for live & not really interested in it, seems like a simple addition for the user to be able to choose the amount of in the Ableton Drum Rack, another 8 would be nice.contortrix wrote:There are several Max4Live devices that will give you more macro knobs than you could ever need.
