Can I disable an effect on audio export?

Post by tonfilm » Thu Jun 02, 2016 12:54 pm

I have an effects rack on my master track that drives my main speakers, the subwoofer and has some EQ to fix the most problematic frequencies in my room a bit.

On every audio export i want to disable this effects rack automatically. Any idea on how to do this?

best,
t

Use the key mapping feature to bind a keyboard shortcut to the power button of the device/rack/VST on the master.

There's nothing in Live that can do this automatically for you, though perhaps there's possibly a Max 4 Live device that someone created.

The problem is the way you have it set up.

If you want to circumvent the rack on export, you'll hade to create an audio channel that receives audio from the Master.

The Master channel would go out to different ouputs. The Audio channel would go out to your speakers.

On that audio channel you would have the speaker rack.

When you export, because the audio channel is not going to Master, it won't be rendered.

that is actually a very good idea... the master does not go out to the speakers but another channel receives the master out and mixes it to the speakers. that's a cool solution. thank you!

there is one problem with this approach, if i have it on an audio channel the mute/solo settings influence it. so its inconvenient to use... ended up having it on the master again and being annoyed some times when i forget to disable before export. damn...

Hi guys,

I made a max 4 live device that does this.

It's here for free
https://maxforlive.com/library/device/1 ... on-export

I'd love some user feedback to know if it also works for you or not.
