Pitching and stretching

Post by wernervonw » Fri Jun 24, 2016 8:24 am

Hey guys

I wanted to ask a question regarding pitching and messing around with vocals in sampler

I got a little vocal clip that I want to manipulate at 74 bpm but as soon as you obviously pitch that vocal in sampler, the higher it goes the shorter the sample gets. Is there anyway to stretch the sound so that it can be the same length. Hope I am explaining this correctly :P

I only have the one aaaah sound for instance and want to build a melody around it but the higher I pitch the note the shorter it gets. Want all the notes to be the same length as like the original sound. Is there anyway to stretch it in sampler or any tips?

Thanks so much

You know, you might want to work with audio as opposed to Sampler for that kind of thing. With audio you can easily stretch to match your tempo, and you can also re-pitch without changing the timing (providing your using any mode apart from "re-pitch.")

Just drag your "ahhhhh" into an audio track and start messing with it, mate.

It would also be possible to use this audio track or a plug-in (or en external editor) with stretch and re-pitching capability as a source for Sampler, if you prefer to play out ideas from keyboard.
Make some music!
