Problem when recording new midi clips

Post by Gyu гы » Tue Jul 05, 2016 9:27 am

Hi guys, I'm hoping someone can help me with this.
When using Push 2 to jam it's sometimes difficult to control where new midi clips are created. Also when creating, for example, a new drum pattern I create a new clip but the focus won't go to it so I can't sequence on it. I can get the focus there by pressing the down arrow but this launches all the other clips in that scene as well.
Do any of you have any advice?
Cheers,
Guy

Are you viewing things in Session view? You can trigger the clips you want manually there, unless I'm not understanding what you're trying to do?

You might want to set Push to "Clip Workflow" and, in Live's preferences, enable "Select on Launch". If you use the "New" button on Push, the new clip should be created in the first available slot, shouldn't it?

@Tarekith - Cheers but I'm not looking at the monitor at all, and the problem is where the clips are created, not triggering them
@Sporkles Thank you! I set Push to Clip Workflow and it seems to be working how I want now :)
