By the way if I select "Push" instead of "Push 2" as the control interface, it does function correctly. No buttons are lit tho and the display is still blank. But if I push buttons I can see a midi signal in the live session view, and the play and record buttons both work if I press them. And I also get the Red square in the Session view.

Do you have the Presonus Notion software installed by any chance?

When I look at the Troubleshooting help section of ableton. I can see a image where it tells it that you can find which hub your push2 is connected to by looking at the power supply of 500ma.

My pc has 4 x usb 2.0 ports and 2 x Usb 3.0 ports. But it seems that my USB hub doesn't need any power at all (img 1), both USB Root Hubs don't need any power. (img 2) I think that's because for some reason he puts everything I connect to my pc (so including my USB 2.0 ports) under the USB3.0 USB Hub (img 3). I tried uninstalling all usb hubs and restart to reinstall everything again to no avail.

Don't know if this has something to do with it but thought I'll just give any info I can gather in regards to my issue. Hope that someone can figure out why it just won't work. :(

Jimmy, have you tried to plug Push directly into one of your computer USB port instead of using a hub?

Okej so I installed Ableton Live Intro on my laptop. Connected the Push 2 and voila, updated the firmware and it was running like a charm.

I hoped since it updated the firmware that I'd probably can make it work on my computer now as well. Unfortunatly not. :( So what I tried is turning of usb 3.0 functionality all together in my bios. In which now I can see that USB Hub 2.0 does require the 500MA power that the help section of ableton.com insinuated. But still I turn it on see the logo of ableton on the push 2 display and after 2 seconds it just turns blank again. :(

Man o man I'm starting to lose it. Think I've tried every little thing possible right now to get it to work but it just won't. Hate it.

Thanks for your reply jur, but I don't use a hub at all. It's connected directly to my pc.

Well, since you know it works fine with the laptop, it's definitely not a hardware issue with Push. I'd suggest maybe try uninstalling and then reinstalling Live on your main computer, and make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your motherboard too.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times. I installed 9.6.2 64bit originally, and after that tried 9.6.2 32bit. 9.5 32bit + 64bit. None of them work. I have installed all the latest drivers of my MB as well, also did all the windows updates. And installed the latest driver of my GPU. :(

Sorry mate, I might have misunderstood something.

So. Now you need to find what disturbing element is causing a problem. Any antivirus that is only installed on the "offended" computer?

You probably misunderstood that the driver for the USB is called "USB ROOT HUB" even tho I don't have a hub. Thought that that was just a normal name for a onboard usb hub on my MB.

I have Avira antivirus on my pc. Can that cause the problem? And should I then reinstall with it disabled? Or just run it while it's unabled? I wrote to the support already indeed but haven't heard back yet. Probably since it saturday I need to w8 till monday to get a response. Oh well, just have to sit it out I guess. :)

Sooo, still in contact with support. Tried a few things still to no avail. I do have a idea what may cause my problem. My GPU is the Geforce 1070 GTX which was released a few weeks ago and is based on a new architecture made by nvidia. Does anybody already have a 1080 GTX or 1070 GTX and can confirm they don't have any issues with Push 2?

Pfffffffoei finally got it to work. I've had intensive contact with ableton support over the last few days and they had never experienced anything like my issues. So eventually they send me a diagnostics test app and I've responded with the below email, which I post here to hopefully help someone else on these forums.

--------------

Hey Johannes,

So I followed up your advice downloaded the program and made 2 videos. 1 screencap and 1 of me filming the Push while doing the tests. Added these to this mail.

Not sure how your diagnosics program works. Does it need to check everything by itself when I open it or? Anyhow I pushed a lot of buttons and stuff, tried a lot of things as you can see in the video.

Unfortunately I don't think it's behaving as it should since I don't see anything turn green as you said. The only thing it was reacting on was the display test which turned to the colors or shapes I selected in the menu.

Soooo I've been thinking ahead and thought of a different solution to check if it's really the graphics card that is causing the issues. Steps I took were:

- Restarted Pc got into the BIOS and changed my primary GPU to "Onboard", saved changes and restarted and swapped the HDMI cable from my external GPU port to my onboard GPU port.
- When I did that I didn't get any screen at all anymore so.
- Turned off my PC, opened it up and pulled out my graphics card, booted and I got my screen back again.
- Got into Windows, turned on Push, started live and the screen didn't turn blank but still nothing was lit. The push logo just remained visible didn't do anything still.
- So I opened up your GPU check app and saw that only openGL 1.1 was installed on the onboard GPU not openGL 2.1+ as you suggested.
- Googled my motherboard chipset and checked if there was a additional driver download or something for the onboard and fortunately it was.
- Installed it, run your GPU app again and bam openGL 4.2 was running.
- So I turned on the Push, opened Live and guess what... it has the same behaviour as it had when I had my 1070 GTX plugged in my Pc.
- So that tells me that it's probably actually NOT the GPU that's causing the issue.
- Got to a second hand website found someone who sold Windows 10 for 16,50. Made a boot USB stick. And did a clean install of Windows 10.
- Redownloaded Live Intro again and installed it. AND IT FINALLY WORRRKSSS!!! :D

My god, it's been 4 days, took me 12 hours, call costs to Berlin and USA (25,- euro's) and 16,50 for a Windows 10 license. But it finally works! Sorry for the long read but maybe hopefully you can use this in the future if someone has these issue's like me.

Want to thank you for the support the last few days!

Finally can start making some awesome music with your amazing Push 2!

Cheers,

Youri

I just turned on my Push 2 today and it updated its firmware to 1.0 build 51
Is there an official log for changes?

I didn't realize I had a problem which I should've reported to support until I read this thread. Usually I have to turn the unit off and then on again so Live recognizes it. Maybe this update fixes this issue? If it doesn't I will ask support for help and keep you guys posted
