Just tried it on Live 9.6.1 with Win 7 (32-bit), just out of curiosity. No problems here.

I'm having similar issues - although mostly with consolidating audio clips. I think it's crashed on me with midi consolidation as well. Very frustrating!! I just sent in 4 reports I've collected about it since the 9.6.2 update...

Also, has anyone been noticing issues with consolidation not quantizing properly? It seems like when I consolidate midi into audio (and the midi sounds right before consolidation) the resulting audio is not quantized to the midi it came from.

Also happening to me, Ableton crashes every single time on trying to export a MIDI clip. Unbelievably annoying and is now impacting heavily on workload.

Windows 8.1, Live 9 Suite 9.6.2

I need this fixed urgently.

Also, MIDI clips do export correctly from Ableton Live 9 Suite 9.0.6, however I can't open the project file since it was made in a newer version of Ableton. Very frustrating and another example of why I normally avoid updating to the latest versions of software.

Out of curiosity, does it also happen if you remove the instruments/fx from the track before exporting?

Same with me.

I loaded a blank project and drew a simple midi file with no instruments or FX. Ableton Live Suite 9.6.2 crashes everytime I try to export this as a MIDI clip.

I've written to support yes, so I hope they are working on it.

I can export MIDI in 9.0.6 but this is useless to me since I have many MIDI clips recorded in 9.6.2 and can't transfer them!

This interferes enormously with my projects and if not resolved soon is the kind of thing that will make me look to other software.

On the other hand, does anyone know how to get a MIDI clip from 9.6.2 into 9.0.6 without manually writing it? (Can't do hundreds manually) That would be incredibly helpful if so.

possible midi yoke and record the clip into another software. I used the drones from Cognitones Synfire Pro to record my clips into one at a time. reinstalled 9.6.1 and having no problems.

No export MIDI crash in Live 9.6.2 64bit in OS X 10.11.4. I don't do many of these exports though.

Good to hear it works on your system. Weirdly, it did work on mine the first few times, but then started crashing and now crashes every single time without fail. I wonder what changed!

The name eludes me at the moment but there's a third party app that I think is cross platform that is always recording MIDI. I think you can save as MIDI from that app, so maybe an alternative. I'll see if I can dig it up. Anyone else know which app this is? It's not "Retake for Max", it's a full external app.
